The first annual Twin Cities Lyme Foundation In The LymeLyght fundraising gala was sold out weeks before its RSVP deadline.The event generated funds that greatly surpassed the $100,000 goal to support TCLF Lyme disease education, assessment and literate Lyme diagnoses. More than 150 people traveled to Minneapolis from around the country to hear founder and executive director Lisa Najarian, fashion celebrity Ally Hilfiger, television personality and former global model Yolanda Hadid, singer/songwriter Dana Parish and TCLF supporter and board member Brant Rooney share their stories of devastation living with undetected Lyme. Lyme-literate New York physician Dr. Steven Phillips educated the audience on the evasive, invasive nature of the disease. After a live auction and donations from guests, former Eagles guitarist Don Felder played to the crowd to celebrate the lives that will be impacted because of their generosity. Special thank you to host and auctioneer Frank Vascellaro of WCCO TV for giving the evening such great character.
